Meet up in the Park

The day before we left for Wales we had our first meet up with our friends who would be going up with us.  Ryan and I had met both Miriam and Grant at University before they even started dating.  Miriam had been my RA and we met Grant through the theatre department.  I was really excited that they would be able to be here for our vow renewal as Grant had attended our wedding ten years ago and both of them had come to the hospital to visit us when Ronan was born eight years ago.  That was the last time we had seen them and now they have three boys and one on the way.  Right away sons started playing together and we enjoyed a wonderful bbq in the park here in Bath, England.  It was a perfect start to our vacation and what would be our 10th Anniversary Vow Renewal week.

Q: Have you ever gotten together with friends you have not seen in a long time? Best memory?

  1. Meet up with friends are always the best, especially if it's warm and you can spend it outdoors, looks like you had a lovely time :)

  2. Seems like you had a wonderful time in the park, meeting up with friends is always great and catching up after not having seen them in such a long time is extra special.

I met up with a friend who moved to Canada years ago with her parents and siblings (her siblings and me and my sister were all friends, and my sister came along to meet up with her too), and it was wonderful to see her again. We talked about the good old days and reminded each other of jokes our families pulled on each other. It was fun and I hope I get to see her and the rest of her family again soon.

  3. In just over a week, my family and I will be traveling to the east coast to attend my cousin's wedding. I'm so excited to go because I haven't seen any of this family, or the family friends that live close, in at least 6 years. I also get to see one of my greatest friends that I've had since we were 6 years old. I hope to have plenty of great memories from this trip :)

  4. Lovely photos! Every time my Dad's side of the family gets together we usually have to catch up as we haven't seen each other in a while. We actually had a bbq just last night!

  5. This looks like such a lovely afternoon... the best friends are the kind that you can go years without seeing, or even speaking to, and yet as soon as you meet up things pick up right where they left off :)

  6. Looks like you had the best time. I haven't seen my family for eight months now...I long for them every day! I hope you enjoyed every second!

  7. Oh the months add up quick indeed and then the years. Luckily I saw my mum and sister last at Christmas and before that the summertime, but will be at least a year if not longer next time we see them. Hopefully you get to see your family sooner! x

  8. So was and today we returned to that spot and had another bbq...but missed the friends. :( Exactly Jenna, could not have said it better. Time holds no boundaries for friends like that. :)

  9. Thank you Jessica. Oh I hope your bbq last night was fun! We ended up going back to this very spot for a bbq today. Almost didnt happen because of all the wind but eventually got the grill heated up. Nothing like a nice bbq in the park. x

  10. Oh that will be so awesome to catch up with so many family and those who have known you since you were so young. I bet you will and make sure to take lots of photos! x

  11. That sounds so lovely catching up with her and hearing all the stories from when you both were young. To me that is what life is all about, living life and remembering the good times. That is so cool that all the siblings were friends, I bet there was a lot to share! x

  12. Oh yes, and being outside is the best. We went to the same place today with just our family to have another bbq and it was much colder with the wind. Still nice and sunny though. Hopefully next year we will get a nice summer again too. x

  14. It did indeed! It only rained the next day when we left for Wales. But to be fair when it did rain on our trip it was during convenient times. :)
