Revisiting the Peter Pan Statue 23 Years Later

It is Tuesday and you know what that means...Travel Tuesday! Make sure to link up with us all below and then have fun hopping around to visit the other travel and wanderlust posts for the week.  Next week I will announce our theme for the first Tuesday in November.  I was feeling a little nostalgic today and wanted to show you how traveling back to places we went to before can be so much fun!  The Peter Pan Statue in London is one of those places for me. It is great to compare not just how much I have changed but the trees around the statue as well. Time keeps moving and and still so many people come every day and take their photo next to this landmark in London.  We visited this summer while my family was in town for our Vow Renewal and took photographs to remember it by:

My sister and I lived in England when we were really little.  It was my second time to living here after being born in Oxford.  I cherish this photograph of us when we were little and since moving back have been longing to recreate the photo.  I attempted in 2012 but since Zoe was not with me it was just not the same.  This year we made it a mission to both be in London together to make it happen. We also got a photograph of the boys on the statue with their Zia Zoe too.  It will be great to see how tall they become as adults to recreate this image again!

  1. How fun to have the same picture and seeing you grow as well as the trees is so neat!

  2. We've not been to the statue yet. Must add that to the London list. I love seeing your before and now photos. Such precious memories, I'm sure!

  3. I haven't visited the statue either. I need to add that to my list! So lovely to have these photos of you with your sister, it's a great idea.

  4. Aww this is so cute! :D
I bet the boys would have fun doing it years from now too!

  5. What a great idea! I always thought of doing this with my brothers at a playground my grandma used to take pictures of us at, but they tore it down! Better to pick a statue that will probably stay :)

  6. I've always wanted to visit this statue, it probably stems from my deep love of Peter Pan. I'll get there one day :)

  7. Bonnie, this is so awesome! I love photos like these. My husband and his siblings have this great photo of them in front of their favorite childhood park. When we had a reunion a few years ago we recreated the photo. It's so fun to see the side by side comparison of how everyone grew up :)

  8. This is such a sweet post! I actually have a picture of me next to the statue from 2008 - should be fun to go back sometime and revisit the shot.

  9. How sweet! I have never made it to the Peter Pan statue, but I'll need to pay it tribute if I make back to London one of these days. It's so special that you were able to revisit and recreate those childhood photos!

  10. I love pictures at landmarks that you can recreate as time passes. My sister and I have a spot in Disneyland that we try to take a picture at each time we go. I will have to make it to the Peter Pan statue the next time I am in London! Thank you for hosting the link up.

  11. It's so nice that you and her sister got to go back to a special spot together and bring your boys with you :)

  12. Ah Bonnie, this is a lovely post and great photos! I wish I had some snaps like this to recapture as an adult.
