Day Three of Blogtember states, 'Pass on some useful advice or information you learned and always remembered'. I remember recently sharing this advice from my dad with you all on Six Things You Should Know About Me. So for this post I decided to share a clip from my wedding video where I found it. I also kept in the end of the conversation with our groomsman J as it really shows my dad's happy personality. He was always smiling and laughing and that is sometimes what I miss most of all.

Love that you have that video to treasure! I wish I'd gotten video at my wedding just for that reason, to capture those special moments with loved ones.
ReplyDeleteOh Bonnie, I just read the link about your father...I'm so sorry for your loss. You wrote about him so beautifully, you brought tears to my eyes. He sounded like a wonderful man. xxx
ReplyDeleteThank you for taking the time to read that post, I know its quite a long one. I feel very blessed to have been able to call him Dad. x
ReplyDeleteSadly have lost our wedding video, but I had snapped anything with my dad on it with a video camera...yep, took video straight from my laptop :/ But glad I did because I could make this video. Its nice to hear his voice again. I never thought I would have wanted video so much until after losing someone. It is one of those things you dont really think about until you wish you had it. We dont have much of my boys, and so now I'm trying to make a conscious effort to video more.
ReplyDeleteBonnie, I've just read the link about your father and I am so sorry for your loss. We hear too many stories of innocent people losing their lives through carelessness of others so thank you for sharing it so beautifully and helping to raise awareness of safe driving.
ReplyDeleteThe video is beautiful and the advice your father gave is spot on! I really admire your strength so again, thank you for sharing this with us.

Thank you so much Kam. I really appreciate taking the time to read the other post too. Also thank you for linking up with our Travel Tuesday link up. I'm reading through those today. :) x
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful and your dad is just adorable. It's a real shame that such a good guy is gone from this world. He reminds me a bit of my dad who was also an officer but adorable nonetheless. He is why I decided to join up and try my hand at the military for a little while. Thank you for sharing such a lovely video.
ReplyDeleteDads are awesome. I love that your dad inspired your path too. Though I didnt join the military my dad was a huge inspiration to my husband who joined the military in his foot steps. My dad actually went into the recruiters office with him in his uniform so that the guys would not try to get away with anything. ;)
ReplyDeleteOh I just love that your dad did that! I remember my dad giving me a long talk about how the recruiter will try and talk me into certain careers and to stand my ground no matter what. I also remember him teaching me to shine my boots and learn to march before I left. :)
ReplyDeleteOh such perfect memories...I really love that! x
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful! What a great man he was. (Found you through Jenni!)
ReplyDeleteThank you Ashten, and thank you for finding my blog today! x
